Primary Membership: A Primary membership entitles the member to receive a quarterly Club Newsletter which contains photos, articles and historical information about novelty and figural salt and pepper shakers and their manufacturers.  The newsletter also contains regional chapter news; sensational sets discovered by members; a listing of shakers to buy, sell or trade; and a listing for shaker wants.  Members are entitled to vote on all Club matters, be nominated for a Club office, advertise in the Club Newsletter, and purchase authorized Club merchandise, including a specially designed annual convention shaker.  Members are encouraged to attend the National Convention where they can enter contests, buy and sell shakers, attend interesting sessions and shaker auctions, and enjoy fellowship with other shaker collectors.

Associate Membership: An Associate Membership is one that is attached to and runs concurrently with a Primary Membership (such as spouse, child, etc.,).  The Primary and Associate Members must live at the same address.  Benefits for the Associate Member are the same as those for the Primary Member except the Associate Member does not receive Club publications (since a newsletter is already being sent to the Primary Member).

Junior Membership: The Novelty Salt & Pepper Club offers a Junior Membership for young collectors between the ages of 5 to 17 years of age to provide education related to the hobby of collecting salt & pepper shakers. We encourage junior members to actively participate in all of the club's fun activities.
Junior Membership stands alone and does not require primary membership by an adult in the same household. Junior Members receive a quarterly "Jr. News" flyer dedicated to young collectors and a annual Junior Membership Roster.
Junior Members may join local chapters as allowed by local chapter guidelines. Junior Members may purchase club merchandise, per club guidelines. Jr. Members may buy & sell at the annual convention following appropriate convention guidelines. Jr. Members may bid at auctions at the annual convention. Pre-approval and supervision at the auctions by parent/guardian/adult is required and must be submitted at the time of the convention registration. There will be no exceptions. Jr. Members may enter into "Junior Contests" at the convention competing against their peers. Contests include: Theme Shakers, Costume Contest, and Display Contest.
Restrictions: Junior Members may not hold national office or chair a committee.
